Faculty - Prof. Venkat Reddy
Dr R. Venkat Reddy was born in Andhra Pradesh. He holds two Master’s degrees, one from Osmania University (Psychology, 1964) and another from the University of Delhi (Philosophy, 1967). He was a scientist in the Defense Institute of Psychological Research for 18 years, Head of the Department and Chairman, Board of Studies, Osmania University. Dr Venkata Reddy was the Visiting Professor of Philosophy at the University of Asmara, Eritrea, North East Africa (2001-03). He has attended International Conferences and presented papers in Canada, America, West Indies and North East Africa. He has guided 20 candidates for doctorate degrees and 18 candidates for Master of Philosophy degrees. He has published fourteen books including two dictionaries. He was awarded the Best Teacher award from the Andhra Pradesh Government (2000) and Emeritus Professorship from the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. He is the editor of The Indian Journal of Philosophic Studies published by the Philosophy Department, Osmania University and also an Emeritus Professor of that University.
